Living room interior design Vizag: see how RIAS Architects transformed a Sagarnagar flat with layered ceilings, wall moulding, a fluted TV wall and warm light. This new flat in Sagarnagar, Visakhapatnam was designed by Ar. Pradeep and Ar. Tilak of RIAS Architects & Interiors. The brief was simple: an open living and dining space that feels warm, elegant and calm, with every light and surface working together.
The flat opens into one long living and dining hall, so our first job was to give each zone its own identity without adding walls. We did it through the ceiling, the walls and the light.
Over the entrance passage, a dark wooden slat ceiling with a thin LED line draws you in. The living area has a layered false ceiling in soft cream, cut with long linear lights and finished with a gold leaf chandelier. A deep walnut portal then frames the dining area, which has its own coffered ceiling and cove light.
The sofa wall uses classic moulded panels and two round glass wall lights, next to a botanical wallpaper wall. Sheer and blackout curtains sit behind a lit pelmet, so evenings glow without a single harsh light. This is living room interior design Vizag homeowners can live with every day: calm, warm and easy to maintain.

Zone with the ceiling, not walls. Three ceiling styles mark foyer, living and dining in one open hall.
Hide the light. Linear profiles, cove strips and a lit pelmet do most of the work, with downlights only where needed.
One statement light. The gold leaf chandelier is the only decorative fixture in the living area, so it stands out.
Frame the dining area. The walnut portal with gold inlays turns an open corner into a proper dining room.
Add texture, not clutter. Wall moulding, fluted panels and wallpaper give depth while the palette stays cream and walnut.
Make storage beautiful. The crockery unit uses black-framed glass shutters with shelf lights and a fluted backsplash.
A TV wall that is more than a TV wall. Grey fluted panels, gold strips, a backlit glossy panel and a lit display column.
Each idea works in most 2BHK and 3BHK flats, which is why they keep appearing in our living room interior design Vizag projects.
